LehrScience LLC is a woman-minority enterprise partnering the oil/chemical spill expertise of Bill Lehr and the clinical laboratory knowledge of Fran Lehr.
Dr. Lehr is a recognized expert on hazardous chemical spill modeling with hundreds of peer reviewed articles in the field, co-chairmanship of the International Oil Weathering Committee, and guest editor of leading journals in the field. He has received several medals and awards for his scientific advice during international spill events, including the Deepwater Horizon Spill, the Exxon Valdez Spill and the Mina Al-Ahmadi (1st Gulf War) spill. Dr. Lehr served as Senior Scientist and Spill Response Group Leader for the NOAA Emergency Response Division, Adjunct Professor for the World Maritime University, expert for the U.S. National Academy of Science, and consultant for UNESCO and various governmental science organizations concerning
oil and chemical pollution.
Dr. Lehr holds a Ph.D. in Physics from Washington State University.
Fran Lehr is a CLIA subject matter expert with a Master’s of Science in medical technology from Wayne State University. She has thirty years of experience teaching at the college level, consulting on medical technology, and inspecting clinical laboratories. These laboratories are located in: physician office, State/Public Health, Indian Health Service, Blood Banking, Reference or Independent, Hospital, and Community
Health Center. She also provides training and consulting for laboratory staff to help meet CLIA regulations.
